ALBA featured on Design Dispatch

We're excited to share our first online publication! Last month we sat down with Martina Bartolo Parnis and spoke about ALBA, a three-year transformation of a heritage building on Rudolf Street, Sliema that is very close to our hearts.

ALBA was one of our earliest projects, and in many ways one of our most formative. Working within the constraints of a protected building, we were challenged to find a design language that honoured what was already there while giving the space an entirely new life; uncovering original terrazzo floors, celebrating structural interventions rather than hiding them, and building a bold colour palette that took months to arrive at.

Martina captured the project beautifully, from the layers we peeled back to the details we're most proud of. We're so grateful to her and the Design Dispatch team for telling ALBA's story with such care,  and to Julian Vassallo for the stunning photography.

This project has truly been a labour of love for us, and seeing it come to life feels like sharing a piece of our own home. We wanted to create a space that feels instantly welcoming, where history and modern comfort sit comfortably together, and we hope that warmth jumps off the page when you read about it.

More than just a building, ALBA has become a living testament to what happens when you pour your heart into a space. We invite you to grab a cup of tea, make yourself comfortable, and step inside this journey with us.
